This 1937 Hudson Terraplane is a genuine pre-war American classic, finished in cream with a contrasting maroon red leather interior. Its sweeping bodywork, large chrome headlamps, whitewall tyres and distinctive 1930s styling make it quite different from the more traditional British vintage wedding cars of the same period.
The Hudson can carry up to 5 passengers plus the chauffeur, with 3 passengers on the rear bench seat and a further 2 passengers in the front alongside the chauffeur. The wide bench seating gives the interior a very authentic period feel.
Another distinctive feature is the rear hinged, or "suicide style", passenger doors. These open in the opposite direction to conventional car doors, providing a wide opening into the rear cabin and adding to the car's 1930s character.
This particular Hudson also has an interesting wartime history. During the Second World War, the car was used by Winston Churchill when visiting troops in Hampshire, giving it a genuine connection to an important period of British history.
