Can we pay for our booking in instalments [stage payments].
Yes, we are more than happy to accept payments in manageable instalments to help with the budgeting, we are well aware of the expense of weddings and will always try to help where we can. Because we try to keep costs as low as possible for you and for those who do not wish to use credit cards we have developed a payment facility like a credit card where you can pay off a little each month. This should work out at a much lower cost than paying with a credit card and not paying off the full balance at the end of each month, also with instalment payments the standard deposit payment is not requested up front. We have given you an example below of how we will work out your payments if you choose to pay in this way.
For simple explanation purposes let us assume that you are booking two wedding cars and the total hire charge will be £350. Let us also assume that there are 14 months between the day you make the booking until the date of the wedding. We will divide your total amount by 14 to reach a monthly payment amount, in this case it would equate to £25 per month, we will then add an administration charge of £2 for each payment made therefore your monthly payment would become £27, so in this scenario the total amount payable over 14 months would be £378. Regretfully we do need to make small charge for each instalment as it will involve more time and work for our office staff, however this is much lower than you would expect to pay on a credit card. We will also send you an updated account balance after each payment is received so you will know what amount has been paid off and the balance amount remaining. We suggest a standing order is set up through your bank to make regular payments to Premier Carriage on the same date monthly. We will advise you at the time of booking of the payment dates and amounts. As opposed to the standard deposit and final balance contract the benefits of this system are that the normal £50 deposit [per car] is not requested up front and is included in your monthly payment structure spreading this initial outlay over the period of your instalments and the cleared balance has a further 14 days in which to be received, also your payments are in regular manageable amounts. Please note, the very last payment date may differ slightly to allow time for clearance 7 days prior to the wedding. As in all cases cheques are not able to be accepted as payment within 21 days of the wedding date.
The only stipulation with instalments is that the final payment must be cleared in our account not later than 7 days prior to the wedding. Booked vehicles will not be provided unless the Full cleared balance has been received. Please see our Terms & Conditions [9] with regard to cancellations and refunds. Payments made by instalments will be applied to your account to pay off the total owing in the following order, Deposit, Admin Charge, Balance. If the monthly payments are not received on the due dates we may [if we consider it appropriate] add an additional administration charge should we need to send reminders for late payments. We suggest a regular standing order is set up from your bank account as the best option for monthly instalments, this will ensure payments are received regularly and on time without the need to worry. If you are experiencing difficulty in meeting your payments please always advise us.
Unless you are paying by regular Standing Order you must always advise us Before you make any payments into our account so we are aware where these monthly payments have come from and by whom as you will not be the only client paying into our account similar sums in this way and we must of course credit the correct account. Always use your five digit booking reference number, [four numbers followed by the letter M] as the 'payee reference' on any payments you make into our account, and if paying by cheque ensure this five digit reference and the wedding date are written on the back. Please do not just write your name as we have many hundreds of bookings per year and some have the same name, and this creates a problem at this end when trying to credit the right account. If we experience problems with payments received this way or the monthly payments are not received on time we reserve the right to withdraw this facility at any time. Please advise us at the time of booking if you wish to make your payments by the monthly instalment facility. We regret we are unable to offer a Weekly payment facility - Monthly only.
